Bio and Philosophy
Catrrine Ponall has been a professional voice teacher in the Raleigh area over 30 years and has been playing the flute since 2010. The techniques required for vocal training translate perfectly to those used for playing an open wind instrument like a Native American style flute. Since one essentially 'sings' through the flute, breathing and vibrato control are critical to the quality of the sound. When playing one note at time, it is important to have the highest quality that can be achieved. As a professional teacher, Catrrine strongly believes that instilling the correct techniques early in the learning process leads to success. Many styles of music can be played on this simple yet magical instrument.
The studio space is in a private separate building with excellent acoustics.
